Slum education in India
Most children in slums need to work and earn. Many cannot afford any sort of education. In such a scenario, India NGOs are providing free education to ensure a better future for underprivileged and slum kids. Along with totally free education, the children NGOs give free study material like notebooks, books, bags, computer access, library access and so on. This motivates parents to send their children to school.
Some social service foundations are now concentrating on e-literacy which involves teaching and learning through computers. Using this methodology, it is possible for a NGO in India to reach more students at lesser costs. Night schools, classes on weekends and part time coaching help to make education for slum children feasible.
Other forms of social service in India include areas like health care, healthy food and dwelling, care for physically challenged and mentally afflicted, homes for the aged, orphanages and many more.
There are many individuals, companies and groups who want to give back to society some of the privileges that they have. Touching the lives of children seems especially more appealing because educated children grow up into useful members of society and make for the country’s better future.
